Sea-Tac Airport announces permanent return of program that allows non-ticketed visitors to go beyond security

SEATTLE — The Port of Seattle announced Monday the permanent return of a program that allows non-ticketed victors to go beyond security checkpoints.

The SEA Visitor Pass pilot program, which ran last year for six weeks, allowed people to go in and spend time with friends and family before flights or surprise travelers when they get into town.

To take part in the program, a limited number of visitors had to apply online and wait 24 hours for confirmation after a security check.

With the program, it was the first time in 17 years that guests were able to go to the gates.

The Port of Seattle said during the trial period, 1,165 visitors enrolled in the program. Sea-Tac was the first airport on the West Coast to create a pilot program for visitor passes last year.
