School bus crashes into industrial truck near Poulsbo

A North Kitsap School District bus collided with a tree service utility truck on Monday, according to a Facebook post from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 3:16 p.m., Kitsap County deputies and Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue responded to the crash in the 3500 block of Northwest Half Mile Road near Poulsbo.

First responders found the bus driver entrapped in the driver’s seat.

The driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Three students on the bus were able to escape out the emergency exits and were evaluated by paramedics before being released to their parents/guardians.

A worker from the tree service utility truck was thrown during the incident and was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Northwest Half Mile Road between Clear Creek Road Northwest and Southern Boundary Road is closed until further notice.
