Schick Shadel Hospital permanently closes

On May 23, Schick Shadel Hospital announced they were closing their doors on June 30, due to lower demand during the pandemic.

According to a media release, the Seattle-area hospital opened in 1935 and has been providing treatment services for adults with substance use disorders.

The last day for new patients was June 6.

Patients that are currently admitted will continue to receive care until they complete their treatment.

Staff was encouraged to apply for open positions at sister facilities in the area.
