Possible road rage rollover crash jams SR 522 in Woodinville

WOODINVILLE, Wash. — All lanes of westbound State Route 522 near 195th were closed in Woodinville Friday morning after what may have been a road rage-fueled crash.

All lanes reopened at around 9 a.m.

“Right now, we’re investigating this as a potential road rage incident, some of the witnesses indicated that possibly these two vehicles were involved in something prior to the collision,” said Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson.

Drivers passing by the wreck were able to get a clear view of a car upside down, destroyed, with debris scatted all over.

“I mean you gotta be careful on the roads. People are unpredictable, so it could happen to anybody,” said one driver at a nearby gas station.

Johnson says they received reports of the crash just before 6 a.m. Investigators used a drone to map out the scene.

WSP says both drivers involved are cooperating with investigators.

“Once troopers arrived, they found out that there was another vehicle that was involved, which I believe was a Chevy pickup,” said Johnson.

WSP says the woman traveling in the car that rolled over fractured her arm and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officials say incidents like this should be a wake-up call for drivers.

“If someone is driving aggressively just stay away from them, don’t engage and call us. Let us know the direction, the description of the vehicle,” said Johnson.
