MONROE, Wash. — Monroe native Antwane Tyler is headed to the Grand Ole Opry for his debut at the historic Nashville, Tennessee, venue on Nov. 13.
Tyler, a fast-rising country-music star, is living out a dream his grandfather carried for years — to one day perform at the Grand Ole Opry.
“This one’s for you, Grandpa. It was always your dream to perform at the Grand Ole Opry one day. That makes this moment even more special,” Tyler wrote. “This feels like your dream found its way to me, and I get to carry it the rest of the way.”
Tyler shared the exciting news with his family and fans on social media and was quickly embraced with hugs from each family member as news of the accomplishment circulated.
Tyler will take center stage at the century-old venue, celebrating “Opry 100,” its year-long series of concerts highlighting the “show that made country music famous.”
The set list for Tyler’s debut includes Missouri-native singer/songwriter Hannah Harper. Additional artists will be announced at a later date, filling out the rest of the night.
The venue amplified Tyler’s accomplishment, noting several other superstar musicians who have debuted at the Opry, such as Sabrina Carpenter, Ringo Starr, and Niall Horan.
“Making an Opry debut is a milestone moment, and we can’t wait to see who steps onstage next,” the Grand Ole Opry stated. “Keep an eye on our calendar for the chance to witness an Opry debut for yourself!”
Monroe shaped the sound he’s bringing to the Opry stage
Tyler was adopted at eight years old and raised in Monroe. His writing leverages his time growing up in “a small town outside Seattle,” and a sound molded by his experiences growing up there.
Tyler’s music seamlessly shifts between country, folk, and pop: country being the songs that raised him, folk rooted in the Monroe atmosphere, and pop from the era he grew up in. All of which effortlessly combine into an entirely unique sound that Tyler calls “authentic, honest, heartfelt, and rooted in where he’s from.”
“For Antwane, stepping into that circle means representing the Pacific Northwest, carrying a region and a story rarely heard on that stage, and hoping it means something to the next kid who sees a piece of himself in the artist standing there,” the Grand Ole Opry stated.
Tyler burst into the music scene with his 2024 single “Homesick,” which quickly became a staple in households across the region. “Homesick” was inspired by Tyler’s feeling of being unfamiliar with his surroundings, something that deeply connected with many others.
“The song resonated with communities throughout the Pacific Northwest, turning heads and marking the moment Antwane realized music wasn’t just a dream — it was becoming his life,” the Grand Ole Opry stated.
Since then, Tyler has released several other singles along with his lone 2025 EP, “Getting Home.” As for live appearances, the Grand Ole Opry debut will be the latest of his concerts where he has previously shared the stage with some of country music’s well-respected names, such as Craig Morgan, Nate Smith, Jordan Davis, and Jo Dee Messina, among others.
“Antwane Tyler is the Pacific Northwest’s next rising star, and he’s making waves,” the venue stated.
