Marshall, a six-time pro-bowler, signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks this offseason after being released by the New York Giants in April.
In seven games this season, Marshall recorded 11 receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown.
Marshall’s release comes with the emergence of second-year wide receiver David Moore who has four touchdowns in the Seahawks last three games.
The #Seahawks released veteran WR Brandon Marshall, source said. He was a class act in Seattle -- too classy to be standing on the sidelines. Younger players had stepped up, so Marshall moves on. (@adamschefter first)

The (4-3) Seahawks return home on Sunday to host the (5-2) Los Angeles Chargers at CenturyLink Field.
