RALEIGH, N.C. — Longtime Seahawks quarterback and current CBS Sports analyst Russell Wilson may have a new position -- at the collegiate level.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Super Bowl XLVIII champion interviewed for NC State football’s head coaching position Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Wilson served as NC State’s starting quarterback for two years, before heading off to play at Wisconsin. Following his time in Wisconsin, Wilson played fourteen years in the NFL, with 10 of those years spent in Seattle.
That being said, Wilson isn’t the only former NFL quarterback fighting for the position. Longtime Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers also interviewed for the head coaching job, according to ESPN.
Like Wilson, Rivers also played for NC State. The current St. Michael Catholic High School football coach (and occasional NFL quarterback fill-in) played for the Wolfpack from 2000 to 2003.
