RENTON, Wash. — A 68-year-old Australian man who went missing after leaving Valley Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 5, has been found safe, according to the Renton Police Department.
Renton police said Haviland is a little deydrated, but doing well. Family is with him now at Valley Medical Center.

Haviland was visiting the state from Australia when he experienced severe confusion while staying at a hotel in the SeaTac area.
He was taken to Valley Medical Center via ambulance where he was treated and later discharged the next day. Hospital staff called a rideshare for him, but police later confirmed that Haviland did not enter the vehicle.
Hospital staff said Haviland was in good condition and was alert when he left.
On Monday, police were able to confirm that Haviland traveled south into Kent after leaving Valley Medical Center. He was last seen on video footage in the 8800 block of South 180th Street shortly after leaving the hospital.

Residents with exterior video cameras in this area are also asked to review their surveillance footage from Wednesday, Oct. 5.
Haviland was supposed to fly back to Australia but never made it back to his hotel to get his belongings and missed his flight.
