The early morning rain did not dampen the spirit of those taking part in the seventh annual Obliteride.
The annual event has raised more than $17 million since 2013.
All the funds raised go straight to breakthrough cancer research at Fred Hutch.
“Whether they are riding for themselves or for their friends and family,” said organizer Andrea Gomes Morrison. “They are all riding in search for cure and provide hope for future.”
This year’s event which began at UW and ended at Gas Works Park saw a record number of participants at more than 2,500.

They either who either took part in a 50- or 100-mile ride or a 5K run and walk.
More than $2.5 million have been raised this year so far.
Many participants are also cancer survivors, including Tristan Osborn who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 1997.
“I like to do this every year,” said Osborn who’s taken part in the race since it began in 2013. “It's for everyone who has cancer. Everyone is fighting their own fight it's what we are here for to make things better for everybody in the future.”
