Hundreds of protesters fill Seattle City Hall

SEATTLE — Hundreds of protesters made their way from Capitol Hill to Seattle City Hall on Tuesday evening.

Earlier in the day, a rally was held by Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant, which started at the East Precinct at Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill.

Sawant called for accountability from the city.

“If Mayor Jenny Durkan refuses to step down, I will introduce articles of impeachment,” she said.

Before 9 p.m., a group of protesters marched to Seattle City Hall in Downtown Seattle and went inside the building. It’s unknown how the hundreds of people gained access to the building.

“Whose City Hall? Our City Hall! Whose City Hall? Our City Hall!” demonstrators shouted.

Sawant also joined the protesters inside City Hall.

Protesters left just after 10:30 p.m.

Tuesday marked the 12th night of protests in Seattle.
