State Route 9 is fully closed north of Lake McMurray to repair the Lake Creek Bridge.
The closure will last for 10 days.
According to the Washington State Department, the bridge’s deck is deteriorating and has been operating on a single-lane configuration since March 24.
Crews began cutting pavement Monday morning to begin the repairs.
There is a detour in place that routes drivers to SR 534, I-5, and SR 538.
WSDOT says drivers should plan to add extra time to their commutes.
The area won’t reopen until September 30.
