The Port of Seattle along with its federal partners U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Northwest Seaport Alliance, and the Port of Tacoma, are hosting a career workshop for veterans to inform them of the career opportunities.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection jobs offer veterans expedited and preferential hiring, as well as location preference to ensure a job right in the Puget Sound region.
Port jobs offer opportunities for veterans and transitional military, from police teams such as K-9, dive team, bomb disposal and marine patrol to container terminal security officers.
On Wednesday, representatives from employers will speak to veterans and transitioning military on the application process, salaries and benefits, open positions and career growth opportunities.
