PORT ANGELES, Wash. — A Port Angeles restaurant was destroyed in an early morning fire Monday.
The fire is believed to have started at Castaways Restaurant, located in the 1200 block of Marine Drive, just before 2 a.m.
The Port Angeles Fire Department was dispatched after a police officer driving by the building noticed thick black smoke coming from the restaurant’s back door.
The fire was already well-involved once crews arrived and additional personnel from Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue were requested to respond to the scene.
Fire officials say the building was an entire loss.
The building was unoccupied and there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
