Police search for suspect after man shot and killed in Renton

RENTON, Wash. — Police in Renton are searching for a suspect after a man was shot and killed on Tuesday.

The shooting happened around 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Rainier Avenue North -- just west of the Renton Municipal Airport.

Witnesses reported seeing a man firing several shots into a parked car with a person inside.

When officers and medics arrived, they located the car with an unresponsive man sitting in the driver’s seat.

Investigators said the man died at the scene.

After a search of the area, police could not find the suspect.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his 20s or 30s, was wearing a black puffy coat, baggy pants and a gray hooded sweatshirt. Police said the man should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees the man is asked to not approach him and instead call 911.
