Monroe police are investigating a cigar shop robbery that left an employee injured Wednesday evening.
The incident happened at the Cigar Q tobacco shop in the 19000 block of Lenton Place Southeast.
Police said two men entered the shop and asked for a carton of cigarettes.
One of the two men then left the store and the other approached the counter to appear as if he was purchasing the cigarettes. As the clerk entered the transaction, the suspect grabbed the cigarettes and ran out of the store.
The clerk ran out after the man and saw the two men jump into a black Mercedes with a woman in the driver's seat.
As the vehicle was leaving the parking lot, the clerk tried to stop them but was hit by their vehicle.
The suspects fled the scene and are still at large.
Police said the clerk was taken to EvergreenHealth with a hand laceration and facial injuries.
The incident remains under investigation and police are still looking for the suspects.
