Police release body camera video of deadly shooting in south Seattle

KING COUNTY, Wash. — On Friday, Seattle police released bodycam video of a deadly shooting following a pot shop robbery in Bellevue and chase that ended in south Seattle on Wednesday.

One of the three suspects who robbed a Factoria marijuana shop was shot and killed by Seattle officers in a stand-off.

On Thursday, Bellevue police released surveillance video of the robbery.

Employees told police two suspects robbed the store at gunpoint, fleeing with cash and product.

Police were told the suspects fled in a gray Nissan Maxima driven by a third suspect.

Officers chased the suspects as they drove into Seattle, through Renton and back into Seattle.

Police took two of the suspects into custody and attempted to contact the third suspect, who hid in a shed behind a home in the 3600 block of South Findlay Street.

The suspect fired his gun and officers Noah Zech and Carl Anderson returned fire, killing the man, according to the Seattle Police Department. The officers were both placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure after a police shooting.

According to court documents, the suspect was identified as Martinez Yanez.

The other two suspects, Anthony Santiago Barajas Robledo and Rex Eckman, appeared before a judge on Thursday.

Robledo’s bail was set at $500,000 and he has been charged with first-degree robbery, among other charges.

Eckman’s bail was set at $100,000 and he has also been charged with first-degree robbery and attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle.
