SEATTLE — Police say a 32-year-old man outside a running, occupied ride-share car in downtown Seattle dove through one of its closed windows Tuesday night.
Officers said that at 6:30 p.m., the car was stopped in the 1900 block of Third Avenue after just picking up a passenger, who was sitting in the back seat.
Suddenly, a man outside dove through a rear passenger-side window head-first, shattering it and causing the passenger to evacuate, police said.
While the passenger called 911, the driver got out of the car to confront the man.
Police said the suspect went around the man and got into the driver’s seat of the still-running car. To keep him from driving away, the driver grabbed the man’s arm through an open window, while a bystander came up and grabbed the suspect’s other arm.
Arriving officers removed the man from the car and took him to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for cuts on his shoulder and head.
The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery and malicious mischief.
