Police investigating explosion at Everett apartment building

EVERETT, Wash. — Police are investigating after an explosion at an apartment building in Everett on Tuesday night.

Residents at the Monte Cristo Apartments said they heard a loud boom just before 10 p.m.

Everett police said the bomb squad responded and is investigating the incident.

The explosion appears to have come from outside the building.

A woman who lives across the street was out walking her dog when it happened, and told KIRO 7 that it appeared to have come from a dumpster.

Police haven’t yet determined a cause, but said they’re looking into a suspicious van leaving the area at the time of the blast.
