Arrest made after man found with fatal gunshot wounds in North Seattle

SEATTLE — A suspect has been arrested after a man was killed and another was hurt in a shooting in North Seattle.

At 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, police were called to Aurora Avenue North near North 145th Street for reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived to find a 44-year-old man with fatal gunshot wounds near a bus stop, Boost Mobile store and Amazon Hub.

A second man, 46, had minor injuries from what appeared to be a graze wound, according to Seattle police.

Police said they were at the scene of another incident nearby when the shooting happened.

“While taking (the suspect) into custody, they heard multiple gun shots from the north. Then we started receiving 911 calls at about 12:17 a.m. this morning where a victim was gunned down right here at 144th and Aurora Avenue North, and a second person also had gunshot wounds as well,” said Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz.

Members of the Seattle Police Department’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit processed the scene for evidence.

On Thursday, Sept. 1, officers arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the case. No further details were provided.
