REDMOND, Wash. — Redmond police are investigating a hit-and-run after an erratic driver in a stolen vehicle hit two patrol cars and nearly ran over an officer.
Investigators say the woman who had her dog with her in a carrier on her chest was shopping in the Ross Dress for Less store in the 17100 block of Redmond Way.
At about 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 1, officers spotted a reported stolen car in a parking lot. The officer called for back up and waited for the driver to return to the car.
According to police, when officers approached the car, the driver sped away. According to surveillance video, the woman clipped one patrol car, crashed into another one, then reversed striking a patrol car a second time. She still had the the dog in the carrier in front of her.
The driver then left the parking lot, hit a curb and narrowly missed an officer, investigators said.
After a search, police could not find the suspect.
