TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium is set to welcome another unique family to its home.
This time, instead of a member of the animal kingdom, the park will host a family of trolls.
Starting Oct. 15, Thomas Dambo’s ‘Trolls: A Field Study’ will settle in for an extended stay at both the Point Defiance Zoo and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park.
This marks the first time the trolls have been to the Pacific Northwest.
According to the Point Defiance Zoo, 12 of Danbo’s massive troll structures will be “hidden throughout the landscapes,” observing those wandering throughout the parks.
“Set among towering evergreens, winding trails, and native wildlife habitats, the exhibition transforms the Northwest scenery into a whimsical world where folklore, nature, and imagination collide,” the Point Defiance Zoo wrote on their website.
The sculptures will be at both parks until Jan. 24. Those interested in learning more about the project and purchasing tickets can visit Point Defiance Zoo’s website here.
