Plane crashes, sinks in water near Edmonds Marina

A fixed-wing single-engine plane went into the water near the Edmonds Marina around 4:45 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane, said to be a Van’s RV-6A, sank just outside of the breakwater, about 200 yards from the marina.

The pilot was rescued and there were no other passengers on board.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
