GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A pilot has died after a small plane crashed in Grant County yesterday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.
Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported that the small aircraft crashed into a field near Road 11-SW and Adams Road South at around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Shortly after, they reported that one person had been killed, and that person was the only person onboard the plane.
Officials began recovery operations after confirming that the crash hadn’t started a fire and there was no risk to the public.
The next morning, the Grant County Coroner identified 89-year-old Dwain Edward Forester of Royal City as the pilot.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
