Person rescued from Elliott Bay after water taxi hears someone yelling for help

SEATTLE — Someone was rescued from Elliott Bay in Seattle after a nearby water taxi heard someone calling for help.

It happened early Monday morning near Alaskan Way.

The Seattle Police Department’s Harbor Patrol rushed to the area and saw someone holding onto a pylon along the pier.

Two rescue swimmers jumped in to save the person and brought them to shore.

The person was taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated.

No word as to how the person ended up in the water or their current condition.
