Pedestrian seriously injured by hit-and-run driver

EVERETT, Wash. — A 39-year-old man was seriously injured Friday night by a hit-and-run driver in Everett, police said.

Police were called just after 7 p.m. to the 4700 block of Colby Avenue and closed the road.

Police said the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

While police investigated, they received a tip about a possible vehicle involved in the collision and responded to the 1600 block of Virginia Avenue where they found a damaged 2001 Chevy Cruze, officials said.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested and also admitted to hitting the pedestrian and driving off, police said. She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of hit-and-run and driving on a suspended drivers license, law enforcement said.

On Saturday morning, police said the victim’s condition improved and he is expected to survive.
