The forecast tonight still looks good and rain-free for western Washington this evening. Under mostly cloudy skies, our morning low temperatures will dip to the 50s to start the day on Monday.
Areas of fog are likely to develop by tomorrow morning and reduced visibility for the morning commute is a good bet.
By midday, the fog will burn off and skies will be cloudy at times. Highs tomorrow will reach the mid-to-lower 70s. Monday looks like a nice day.
Changes start late on Tuesday, and the forecast looks unsettled for the rest of the week.
An area of low pressure is expected to drop toward the PNW and increase the chances for rain showers and breezy/windy weather.
The latest computer models are not in agreement about the timing of rain, but it does appear that we will have some rain for 2 or 3 days this coming week.
Looking at the forecast predictions, showers should start along the coast in the afternoon on Tuesday and spread toward Puget Sound and the Islands on Wednesday.
The low-pressure area bringing the rain will slowly move over Washington and Oregon on Wednesday, with more rain likely in the late day and evening.
More showers are likely on Thursday and Friday as the low-pressure system lumbers over the PNW for a few days.
We could see a nice soak of rain in the mountains over the 4 day period from Tuesday to Friday. Some models predict over 2” of rain in the Olympics and well over an inch in the Cascades.
This stretch of rainy, breezy weather could bring close to an inch of rain around Puget Sound this week. It is not expected to be a major wind event, but there could be wind gusts on Wednesday over 20 mph around the Islands, with stronger gusts along the coast.
The weather has been warm and dry for several weeks around here; now it’s time to welcome back the rain!
