BURIEN, Wash. — One man was killed, and another was injured in an early-morning shooting in Burien, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).
KCSO Master Police Officer Jace Hoch said that multiple callers reported the shooting at the corner of SW 130th Street and 2nd Avenue SW at around 3:40 a.m. Friday.
King County deputies responded alongside Burien, Shoreline, and SeaTac police, as well as Metro and Sound Transit units.
Authorities found one man dead at the scene. Minutes later, they located a second man who had also been shot and had left the area. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to KCSO.
Investigators do not yet know whether the two men knew each other.
When asked about possible suspects, authorities said deputies were interviewing several people, but no one had been detained or taken into custody.
Major Crimes detectives are expected to remain at the scene for much of the morning, telling drivers to expect 2nd Avenue SW to remain closed between SW 128th Street and SW 132nd Street while they investigate.
