Sometimes, it pays to invite law enforcement to your wedding.
Last week, a Port Townsend couple and their crew were hard at work setting up for a wedding when the DJ found that some of his equipment had vanished.
During that search, the wedding crew also realized that beer, soda and Capri Suns were stolen.
“Fortunately for the happy couple (and unfortunately for the suspect), a few off-duty Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a Port Townsend Police Department Sergeant were already at the wedding,” the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office wrote.
After a quick investigation and review of surveillance video, the suspect was identified.
A 55-year-old Quilcene man was booked into Jefferson County Jail for second-degree theft.
The stolen equipment and beverages were recovered and the wedding went on as planned.
“Capri Suns secured. Party saved,” the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office wrote on their Facebook post.
