LYNDEN, Wash. — The Northwest Washington Fair is back! It kicks off Thursday and runs through August 22 at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden.
Gates open at 11:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM daily.
Tickets
General admission each day of the fair costs $15 for adults, $13 for seniors aged 62 and older, and $10 for children aged 6-12. Those who are 5 and younger get in free. Season passes for the entire fair are also available for $45 per person.
All-day carnival wristbands cost $40 and the family value pack is $126, which includes four general admission tickets and two all-day carnival wristbands.
Discount days
Thursday, Aug. 13 is Community Education Day. Whatcom County public, private and tribal school employees will get in for free with a valid ID. Members of the public can get in free, too, by donating four school supply items such as: colored pencils, markers, Crayola crayons, washable tempera paint, glue sticks, and socks of all kids’ sizes, including teens. All donations will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Whatcom County.
Friday, Aug. 14 is Food Drive Friday. Get in free between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. by donating four items for the Whatcom County Food Bank Network. Requested items include canned fruits, vegetables, proteins, dry pinto beans, pasta and rice.
Sunday, Aug. 16 is Free Morning Admission & Worship at the Fair. Admission is free for everyone between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. There will be a free community worship service at 10 a.m. at the Bank of the Pacific Grandstands. It is open to all.
Monday, Aug. 17 is First Responders Day. Free admission for all law enforcement officers, EMTs and firefighters, as well as their spouses and children with valid ID.
Tuesday, Aug. 18 is Military Appreciation Day. Any active-duty, retired or veteran military personnel, as well as their spouses and children, get in free with valid military ID.
Wednesday, Aug. 19 is Kids Day. This means free admission for all children ages 12 and younger.
Thursday, Aug. 20 is Western Washington University Day. All WWU students, staff, alumni and faculty will receive $2 off admission with a valid ID.
Events
This year, there will be two nights of Demolition Derby: Aug. 13 and 14 at 7 p.m.
On Aug. 15 the Stone Temple Pilots will perform, Maoli will perform on Aug. 16, and the Lynden PRCA Rodeo takes place on Aug. 17 and 18.
JA Rule and Fat Joe will perform on Aug. 20 and Brantley Gilbert will take the stage on Aug. 21.
