The northbound I-5 off-ramp to eastbound SR 18 reopened Thursday morning after a single-car collision blocked the roadway for nearly 4.5 hours.

The crash occurred at approximately 1 a.m., injuring two people in the car — a 31-year-old driver and a 27-year-old passenger.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) confirmed that the driver was arrested after he was clocked going 93mph in a 60mph zone. The driver allegedly tried to flee from troopers before crashing into a field at NB I-5 at SR-18.
WSP says the suspect is now in custody for: Vehicular Assault, DUI, Eluding, Reckless Endangerment, Ignition interlock device violation, and driving while license suspended/revoked in the 3rd degree.
Troopers also confirmed that there was an unrestrained passenger inside the car who was seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital.
