SEATTLE, Wash. — Northbound I-5 has reopened a bit earlier than expected, with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announcing they have officially finished their work on the northbound side of the Revive I-5 project.
WSDOT wrote in a press release that the Revive I-5 work zone near the Ship Canal Bridge has been picked up, and all lanes are now open. That being said, not all ramps are open yet, but they are actively working to reopen them.
According to WSDOT, they wrapped up work at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, which is a full nine hours earlier than they planned to reopen the northbound I-5 lanes.
In addition, WSDOT notes that express lanes will still be going northbound, but they will close early Monday morning to shift back into its normal, pre-Revive I-5 schedule.
This will, of course, change again, when Revive I-5 switches to focus on southbound I-5 early next year.
