SEATTLE, Wash. — Organizers are planning “No Kings” events in Seattle and Lynnwood on Saturday to encourage early voting and participation in the upcoming midterm election.

In Seattle, the “Power to the Voters! Seattle No Kings” event is scheduled to begin with a march at 2 p.m. from Westlake Park to Seattle Center.

Organizers said the march will end at a voting fair at Seattle Center beginning at 2:30 p.m.

In a message to social media Saturday morning, AlertSeattle said drivers should expect delays as road closures accommodate demonstrations across the city.

According to organizers, the event is intended to encourage eligible voters to vote early, complete every race on their ballots, and use a ballot drop box.

The demonstration is one of many scheduled across the country Saturday. According to Seattle Indivisible, one of the groups organizing the demonstration, thousands of people are expected to take to the streets across Washington.
