Multiple people seriously injured in single-vehicle crash in University Place

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Five people were taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in University Place, crews with West Pierce Fire & Rescue said.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at Olympic Drive West and Grandview Drive West, which is a roundabout.

Firefighters said the victims had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Four of the victims are considered in critical condition.

It is not yet known what the condition of the fifth person is.

Police have not said what led to the crash but are investigating.
