Medical examiner identifies 14-year-old fatally shot in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — A teenage boy who was fatally shot last Sunday in Tacoma has been identified, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said in a release Thursday.

The medical examiner confirmed that Thiy Conway of Tacoma had died of a gunshot wound to the chest, ruling it a homicide.

Police were called at about 9:14 p.m. to the 9100 block of South Alaska Street, where they found Conway unresponsive.

Lifesaving measures were performed on Conway, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Conway’s death was one of two that occurred Sunday in Tacoma as a result of a fatal shooting.

Police have not said what led to the shootings, but are investigating.

According to The News Tribune, Conway’s death was the 29th homicide for the city so far this year.
