MLK Jr. Civil Rights Memorial Park Tree Lighting Ceremony

The purpose of the event is to acknowledge Rev. Dr. King's birthday, the park's name change to Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Memorial Park and to remember the Charleston 9.   In honor of Black History Month, the park trees remain lighted through February.

MLK Day of Service at Kubota Garden Natural Area: Rainier Beach/South Seattle

Join EarthCorps, the Green Seattle Partnership and Seattle parks & Recreation as we work to restore the urban forest around Kubota Garden! Located in the Rainier Beach Neighborhood in SE Seattle, Kubota Garden is an American-Japanese Garden designed and built by Mr. Fujitaro Kubota.

The City of Bellingham's annual Martin Luther King Jr. event will celebrate "Mothers of the Movement" this year with a program centered on the role of women and women of color in the Civil Rights Movement, the struggle of women of color in the modern world, and how the harmonious ring of Dr. King's dream for racial equity and equality can still be felt and fulfilled today.
