Mariners CF Kyle Lewis wins AL Rookie of the Year

SEATTLE — Lewis, 25, is the first Mariners player to win Rookie of the Year since Ichiro won it in 2001.

Overall, Lewis is the fourth player in club history to win the award. He joins Ichiro (2001), Kazuhiro Sasaki (2000) and Alvin Davis (1984).

He received all 30 first-place votes to total 150 points. This makes Lewis the 12th player to win the award by a unanimous vote and the first for the organization.

Lewis finished the 2020 season batting .262 and has 11 home runs, 37 runs, 28 RBIs, 90 total bases and a .364 on-base percentage.
