Oregon murder suspect inside Sedro Woolley pizza place

SEDRO WOOLLEY, Wash. — A man wanted for murder in Oregon was arrested after walking into a Skagit County pizza shop with a gun.

It all started around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to Sedro Woolley police, the man called 911 several times, making threats and saying he had a gun.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon called the department earlier in the day, warning them that the man may be in Washington.

About an hour later, police spotted the same man walking into a pizza shop.

In a video obtained by KIRO 7, you can see what appears to be part of a gun in his bag.

KIRO 7 spoke to workers who were inside the shop when this unfolded. They said the man snuck behind the bar, set down the bag and gun, and went into the beer garden where he ate some pizza and drank some alcohol.

About 45 minutes later, the restaurant got a call from police, asking them to evacuate the business quietly.

Police, deputies, a crisis negotiation team, and a SWAT team showed up and surrounded the building.

Officers told KIRO 7 that the suspect tried to climb a wall to escape, but didn’t have any luck.

According to police, the man is accused of stabbing a 44-year-old woman in Eugene just hours before making his way to Sedro Woolley.

KIRO 7 is now working to learn what evidence is connecting the man to the murder and how he ended up in Washington.
