A man in a wheelchair was hit by a Seattle Public Utilities in West Seattle on Tuesday, according to the Seattle Fire Department. The accident occurred at the intersection of Delridge Way Southwest and Southwest Brandon Street.
The truck was stopped at a red light on Delridge. It began to make a right turn, hitting the 55-year-old man who had entered the crosswalk in his wheelchair.
The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he is currently in serious condition.
The driver was evaluated at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
The investigation is ongoing.
