Deputies are investigating after a 32-year-old man was fatally shot in Parkland over the weekend.
According to investigators, the man’s body was found on a roadway near 106th Street East and A Street before 1:30 a.m.
When deputies arrived at the scene they found the man, who was later identified as John Willie Smith IV, with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Neighbors had reported hearing gunshots at about midnight.
Smith lived a block away from where the shooting happened, investigators said.
Deputies are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
