Man cut from vehicle after crash in SODO

SEATTLE — Firefighters pulled a man from an SUV after a Jeep crashed into him on Thursday night in the SODO area.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. near South Forest Street and 7th Place South.

Rescuers used the Jaws of Life to free the victim from his vehicle.

A witness told police that the Jeep was coming down the freeway ramp and showed no signs of stopping when it slammed into the victim’s SUV.

“He was stuck and he’s a bigger guy, so he was stuck in that seat,” Lily Meredith said. “They cut off three doors. They cut off the top. His arm was really bad ... ugh.”

The victim was evaluated but his condition is unknown.

There’s no word on whether the driver of the Jeep will face any charges.
