A man was arrested in Thurston County early Sunday morning for possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl after attempting to impersonate three different people before identifying himself.
In a Facebook post, Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders said he stopped a car around 2:30 am Sunday for driving out of its lane and without a brake light.
Sanders said the driver told him a false name and date of birth, and when asked his age, he provided three different ages.
After asking the driver for identification three times, Sanders said a deputy spotted the ID card that he tried to hide near the passenger seat.
Sanders and the deputy found the driver had a suspended license and an active warrant from a neighboring county for driving on a suspended license. He was then arrested.
Sanders said he suspected there were illegal drugs in the car because the driver was shaking severely and parts of the interior of the car were falling off.
According to Sanders, Tumwater Police K9 Thor and his handler responded for a drug sniff.
When they were able to look inside the vehicle, the investigators found the driver’s wallet along with a small bag of suspected fentanyl.
The suspect was booked into jail for driving with a suspended license, possessing illegal drugs, and impersonation.
