Man arrested for voyeurism at Value Village in Ballard

A 17-year old girl was changing Tuesday evening in the fitting room of the Value Village on 15th Ave Northwest in Seattle when she saw “a hand holding a cell phone moving underneath the fitting room door,” according to a Seattle Police Department incident report.

The girl “screamed and kicked the cell phone away.”

A suspect in the case was booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of felony voyeurism and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

The 34-year old man has not been charged, so KIRO 7 is not identifying him. But he has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1999, according to a court records search.

In this incident, multiple witnesses said they saw the man crouched near the fitting room and heard the girl scream. They then helped identify the suspect when Seattle police officers arrived.

After receiving the Miranda Warning, the man allegedly told police the girl in the dressing room was “into him.”

His cell phone was seized as evidence.

According to police report, the suspect currently lives in Tacoma and “is currently on electronic home monitoring.

"It does not appear that he has learned his lesson of not committing crimes while given the privilege of being out of physical custody," police wrote. "It is apparent he will continue to commit various crimes, and is now focused on sexually motivated crimes."
