KIRKLAND, Wash. — A major three-vehicle crash blocked five lanes of southbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland on Monday morning, causing long delays until the early afternoon.
Three people were taken to the hospital: one in serious condition, one in critical condition, and one as a precaution. By Monday afternoon, one of the drivers involved had died.

A lengthy closure was expected as a four-mile back-up continued to build from SB I-405 to SR 522.
Both express lanes were open and free near 124th to help keep traffic moving.

Sadly, one of the driver's from today collision SB I-405/124th has died.
