Magnitude 3.8 earthquake hits off the coast of WA state, British Columbia

A magnitude 3.8 earthquake hit off the coast of British Columbia and Washington State early this morning.

According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, the earthquake struck at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and was located around 47.6 km SE of Tofino, BC, and 123.41 miles WSW of Vancouver, BC.

Preliminary readings listed the earthquake at a magnitude 3.1, but it was later upgraded to a magnitude 3.8.
