Lynnwood City Councilmember Josh Binda settles ethics complaint

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Lynnwood City Councilmember Josh Binda is settling an ethics complaint after being accused of using city resources for his personal gain.

The complaint accuses Binda of using city hall after hours, and using city council computers and email for his own business and profit. Binda agreed to accept what happened but said he didn’t realize what he was doing was wrong.

“I was not aware or knowingly committed any violation,” Binda said. “This is a very minor infraction that is pretty common in politics. It’s a knowing and growing mistake. Going forward I look forward to continue doing my work and learning and growing as a councilmember.”

No further action will be taken by the Board Counsel, the Board of Ethics or the Lynnwood City Council with regard to the complaint.

The NAACP of Snohomish County is investigating whether Binda was unfairly targeted because of his race.
