Lyft driver charged with indecent liberties

A Lyft rideshare driver is charged with indecent liberties.

Investigators say Mohamed Hussein, 42, picked up a victim on Capitol Hill and sexually assaulted her as he drove.

According to charging documents Hussein picked up the victim at Q Nightclub on Capitol Hill on March 7th. The victim told investigators she was drunk and sat in the front seat so she wouldn't get sick. During the ride she fell asleep and woke up with her pants unbuttoned and Hussein touching her, detectives wrote.

The victim's friend who helped her into the Lyft vehicle was able to identify Hussein in a photo line up, according to charging documents.

Hussein is in the King County Jail with bail set at $100,000. His arraignment is scheduled for May 6th.

KIRO 7 contacted Lyft for a response:

"Safety is Lyft's top priority and the behavior described is deeply concerning," Lyft spokeswoman Lauren Alexander said in a statement. "Upon learning of the incident, we deactivated the driver. We've also been in touch with law enforcement and are actively assisting with their investigation."
