LONGVIEW, Wash. — A 46-year-old Longview man was arrested yesterday morning after police said he exposed himself and masturbated outside a local daycare.
According to the Longview Police Department, the man was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on suspicion of indecent exposure after a witness reported seeing him masturbating in open view near the daycare while looking toward the facility.
The witness told police she also saw him making sexually suggestive movements on the ground.
A responding Longview Police Department officer observed the suspect making simulated sexual movements on the ground before arresting him nearby.
Police confirmed there is no indication that any children witnessed the incident.
The arrest was connected to one of three separate indecent exposure incidents reported to Longview police in the downtown area between daylight and noon yesterday, the police department added. Officers responded to and investigated each report, but no other arrests were made.
Longview police urged anyone who witnesses indecent or sexually explicit behavior in a public space to call 911 immediately while the event is occurring so officers can respond and attempt to locate the person.
