BELLEVUE, Wash. — I-405 drivers, get ready for some overnight closures.
According to a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) travel advisory, the week-long closures, set to restart tonight, Sept. 8, will be focused on “crack sealing and pavement repair,” in the Bellevue and Kirkland areas.
Crack sealing is happening weeknights on NB and SB I-405 in Bellevue and Kirkland over the next couple weeks.

While there will be signs to inform drivers of detour routes, WSDOT says that there still could be delays where workers are sealing cracks and repairing pavement.
This week, the closures will start at 9 p.m. and last until 5 a.m., and take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Starting tonight and tomorrow night, the construction will be focused on the following sections, according to WSDOT:
• Three lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 12th Street and Northeast 70th Place
• Two lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 112th and 140th streets
• From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning, the eastbound and westbound SR 520 on-ramps to northbound I-405
• The northbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 124th Street
Construction will then shift to the following lanes Thursday night, according to WSDOT:
• Three lanes of northbound I-405 between Northeast 100th and 145th streets
• Northeast 128th Street express lane on-ramp to northbound I-405
• Northbound I-405 express lane off-ramp to Northeast 128th Street
This is part of a larger project to restore roads across Washington. To learn more about the restoration project, you can visit WSDOT’s website here.
