34 health centers opening at King County schools this month

KING COUNTY, Wash. — Thirty-four health centers are opening at King County schools in September to provide health services for students even as classes go online.

These centers will offer primary care as well as vaccinations, mental health counseling, dental services and the flu vaccine.

Any student enrolled in participating districts can take use of the centers. Twenty-seven clinics will operate at Seattle schools, with an additional five in Bellevue, Highline, Renton and Vashon school districts.

“Routine vaccines and seasonal influenza vaccine are more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re grateful our partners are committed to maintaining access to these health centers,” said Patty Hayes, Director of Public Health—Seattle & King County.

Public Health - Seattle & King County coordinates all of the clinics, but only directly operates three. Appointment times will be staggered and the number of people allowed inside the facilities will be limited in order to abide by social distancing guidelines.
