Investigation underway after man shot, killed in Bremerton

BREMERTON, Wash. — A 24-year-old man is dead after being shot in the 1600 block of Naval Avenue Saturday afternoon, Bremerton police said.

Detective Sgt. Keith Sargent said a 23-year-old and the victim were involved in a confrontation but don't know what led up to the shooting.

According to Sargent, the victim and the suspect did not know each other, and a knife the victim had in his possession was somehow involved in the incident.

The victim has not been identified yet, police said.

Sargent said officers found two vehicles on the side of the road where the shooting happened.

The suspect was not injured but was arrested and booked into jail for investigation of murder in the second degree, police said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
